Day 74 of 365 Things To Do In Michiana

Rumor Has It, 216 E. Main Street, Niles

There is a place in Niles that I had been dying to get a chance to check out since it opened up a couple of weeks ago. And, since my travels took me to Niles today, I was determined to check it out and talk to the owner….and boy was I glad that I did! Rumor Has Itis a new store in down town Niles that is bound to please! Full of hip coolness and retro, Rumor Has It’s main focus is good ole fashioned Vinyl LP’s. For you young one’s reading this, LP’s are what we had before CD’s and before Cassette Tapes and they are hard to find. Speaking of CD’s and Cassette Tapes, Rumor Has it sells those too! The CD’s are used, and the Cassettes are either very hard to find ones or still sealed up……or both. There is also stereo equipment that you can buy including turn tables and they are hooked up so that you can try them out.

If music is not your thing, no worries, check out their used book collection, used DVD’s, used video games and even used board games that have been forgotten through the years. Rumor Has It even has Vintage Clothing!

And, you can enjoy all of this cool stuff while sitting on some Vintage Furniture while sipping on coffee and enjoying wi-fi. While you are there, you can even mark on a giant chalk board some cool poetry if that is your thing. All of this combined with old school hard wood floors make this a totally cool and hip place to spend your time and I can definitely see that this will be a cool place for people to gather. Rumor Has It is owned by Matt and Dawn Shaver, and is open on Thursdays from Noon to 6:00 pm and on Friday and Saturday from 2:00 pm to Midnight. Other days, they are open by appointment or by chance.

Also, be sure to check them out on Facebook and click “LIKE”…..trust me, this is a place you are going to LOVE!!!!
