Game Plan

Make sure to get a game plan together as to what you are looking to do. Don’t go blindly into the buying process. Are you looking to live in the property eventually? Are you wanting to flip the house? Are you wanting to rent it out? Each of those questions represent different scenarios of housing criteria. There might be a little overlap, but for the most part, a flip house will be different than one you would live in or want to rent out. They also will probably dictate as to what area of town you are going to be searching in as well as what neighborhood.

Different areas of town represent different housing values, crime rates and school systems etc. A clear understanding of what you want to do will make it easier to find the house you are looking for. Remember, patience will be rewarded in this market. You don’t have to jump at the first thing you see. If it doesn’t match what you are looking for, wait until something else does—it usually will pop up before too long.
