The absolute worst thing you can do if you are heading to foreclosure is nothing. Do something! A foreclosure stays on your credit for 7 years. Call your bank, try to work with them. Do not ignore their phone calls. If the bank sees that you are trying to work with them, they will be more eager to work with you.

Be very cautious about anyone wanting money upfront claiming that they can keep you in your home! Most 3rd party companies are just trying to scam people if they are asking for money up front.
