Look At The Big Picture

Make sure that you are aware of the larger picture. Many sellers get hung up on small issues and lose focus on the larger picture. Here is an example. It is a buyers market, you get a competitive offer on your home-only $2,000 less than asking price, but you do not want to give up that refrigerator or washer and dryer in order to make the sell happen. In this market, make the concession! Don’t let the sale of your home fall apart because of a $300 or $500 appliance. If it does fall apart, the next offer may end up being $5,000 less and it may sit on the market for another 3 months with an $800 per month payment. You just cost yourself $7,400 because you would not include a $500 refrigerator.
